Pasco eSchool Elementary Attendance Policy

Welcome to Pasco eSchool Elementary. We are proud to offer a flexible, hybrid-virtual learning environment that supports the academic success of Florida students in grades K–12. Whether you are a returning family or new to our community, we are committed to partnering with you to ensure a positive and productive educational experience.

Overview

Pasco eSchool is a school of choice, and with that choice comes the responsibility to meet academic and attendance expectations. In accordance with Section 1003.21, Florida Statutes, all students are required to maintain regular attendance and participate in state-mandated assessments and progress monitoring. Continued enrollment is contingent upon adherence to the Pasco County Schools Student Code of Conduct, the Pasco eSchool Elementary Student Handbook, and satisfactory performance in attendance, coursework, and behavior.

Attendance Expectations

To support student success, the following attendance requirements must be met:

  • Daily attendance in live online video lessons
  • Consistent completion of weekly coursework as outlined in the pacing guide provided each Monday
  • Regular communication with teachers
  • Participation in all assigned small-group instruction for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
  • Attendance at all required assessments

All coursework must be submitted regardless of whether an absence is excused or unexcused.

Monitoring and Reporting

Attendance is recorded weekly based on coursework completed from the prior Monday through Sunday. Absences are documented and visible to families through the Pasco County Parent Portal. Automated notifications will be sent to families regarding any recorded absences. Unexcused absences may be reclassified as excused if they meet the criteria established by the State of Florida. Health-related absences lasting five or more consecutive days may require a doctor’s note. Excessive unexcused absences or lack of participation may result in truancy proceedings and potential withdrawal from Pasco eSchool. To report an absence, families should use the Pasco eSchool Elementary Absence Form.

Support and Communication

Our goal is to help students and Learning Guides establish routines that support academic success while accommodating individual family needs. Open communication is essential. Please contact your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns regarding attendance. We appreciate your partnership in making Pasco eSchool a successful and supportive learning environment for all students.

Pasco eSchool Secondary Attendance Policy

Welcome to Pasco eSchool Secondary.  We are delighted to have you as part of our supportive hybrid-virtual community. Pasco eSchool is a school of choice that offers hybrid online education to Florida students in grades K-12. Whether you are a returning or new family, we are here to support every student’s success. This message is to inform you of Pasco eSchool’s attendance policy, which helps ensure student success.

Overview

Florida law (Section 1003.21, Florida Statutes) requires all students to attend school regularly. Pasco eSchool follows this law to ensure consistent attendance. Since attending a School of Choice is a privilege, it may be revoked due to unsatisfactory attendance, grades, violations of the Pasco County Schools Student Code of Conduct, or behavior that disrupts the learning environment. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their student(s) fully participate in school. Pasco eSchool will collaborate with families to support students’ weekly learning and improve progress through targeted, tiered interventions provided by teachers. If necessary, a Pasco school counselor or social worker will contact families whose students are not attending regularly based on weekly progress. Extended truancy may result in withdrawal from Pasco eSchool.

Attendance Expectations

  • Attend online video lessons
  • Follow pacing guide and complete weekly coursework
  • Maintain consistent communication with teachers
  • Attend all small-group instruction for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success
  • Attend all state assessments
  • Whether absences are documented as excused or unexcused, coursework must be submitted.

Monitoring and Reporting

Families may receive automated emails or phone calls based on any absences noted. Effective communication is essential in this process, and we encourage families to use the Pasco eSchool Middle and High Absence Form to notify us of any absences students may have. Please note that unexcused absences may be reclassified as excused if they meet the valid absence criteria established by the State of Florida. Health-related absences of five or more consecutive days may require a doctor’s note. Attendance will be taken weekly for coursework completed from the prior week (Monday-Sunday), and absences will be documented, which parents/guardians can access through the Pasco County Parent Portal.

Support and Communication

We aim to help students and their parents or legal guardians establish a routine that supports student success. Please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s school counselor or school social worker with any questions or concerns regarding attendance.

Thank you for being a valued part of our community!
