State and Local Assessments
Florida End of Course (EOC) assessments are required by the state of Florida in some courses. Public school students enrolled in and/or receiving credit for one of these courses, regardless of grade level, are required to take the Florida End of Course (EOC) assessment upon completion of the course. This includes middle school students completing a course associated with a Florida EOC assessment, regardless of whether they are receiving high school credit. The results of the EOC assessments will serve as 30% of the final grade in each course. Please note: The Florida EOC does not replace the course’s semester or final exam.
Students enrolling in a public school from other schools or programs are required to take and pass the Florida EOC assessment prior to receiving credit for the course. The courses that require a Florida EOC assessment are as follows:
- Algebra 1
- Biology
- Geometry
- US History
- M/J Civics (7th grade)
