Pasco County’s First Annual Digital Art & Literary Magazine

Submissions are open to all Pasco County staff and students K-12.

Please use the form below to submit your entry. Alternately, you can email your entry to Abigail J. Kennedy at ajkenned@pasco.k12.fl.us. You must include:

Full Name, School, English or Art Teacher, Grade, Age, Statement of Original Work (see below for wording), Signed Release Agreement (see below for wording), A Digital Copy of your Submission, and A Title and any Notes about your Submission

The magazine will be published digitally, courtesy of Pasco eSchool’s teachers and staff. We also welcome and encourage entries from teachers and district staff members.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 10, 2013.

2013 College Fair!

Don’t forget about the College Fair at Sunlake High School this Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 10-12. The organizers of the fair have confirmed participation by 30 universities (including UF, USF, University of Miami) , colleges, military academies and post-secondary workforce training centers. These organizations will offer information about their programs and will hold break-out sessions for students and families about the admissions process and financial aid opportunities that might be available. We are hoping that many sophomore, junior and senior students throughout the county will participate and that it will be a meaningful opportunity for them. This is the first time that this event has been held in Pasco, but thousands of students from Pinellas and Hillsborough counties have participated in previous years and found it to be a very helpful activity.

While RSVPs are requested, they are not required in order to participate. You can learn more by calling Congressman Bilirakis’ office at 813-501-4942.

Pasco eSchool would like to congratulate Joy Lin for being selected as the school winner of Pasco County’s Program to Recognize Individual Distinction in Education (P.R.I.D.E.) award for writing, for science, and for social studies. Joy will now move on to compete in the district level P.R.I.D.E. writing, science, and social studies competitions against the winners from the other 13 Pasco high schools. Congratulations, Joy, and best of luck in the district competitions!!

Online Tutoring Sessions Now Available

Would you like some extra help in Math, Science or Spanish?

We now have upper level students offering peer tutoring via Elluminate. These students are volunteering time to help you become more successful in your courses. You can drop into the Elluminate session at any time during the scheduled hour to ask questions. You can come and go as you please, but please be courteous of others in the room!

Ground Rules:

Come with questions about the topic you are studying.
Bring actual questions, not just assignment numbers. The tutors are not familiar with the specific assignments in each course.
There will be two tutors and one teacher per session. The teacher is there to make sure that the session runs smoothly and will serve as a back up for the student tutors. The teacher will not lead the session itself.
No need to RSVP for the sessions. Just show up!
